Received a fraudulent check in the mail for $2498. Was to be a secret shopper using Walmart Money Center. I automatically thought fraud. Took it to a bank that I did not have an acct at, told them that I didn't have an acct there and that i wasn't looking to get the check cashed. They looked at the check and the info that came with it. They automatically determined it to be fraudulent. The info demands you to deposit the check into your acct, and complete transactions within 72 hours. That is before the check would have cleared, or been determined to be not good, and would make the person that deposited the check into their acct responsible for the full amount of the check. Not only that, but could get the depositor arrested for cashing fraudulent checks.
